Event Description
Join us at the Tamworth library to meet bestselling Australian crime author Fleur McDonald, in conversation with Kristy Reading! Fleur is the author of 27 fiction books, including the popular Detective Dave Burrows series' and the most recent Kalgoorlie series.
Fleur has lived and worked on farms for much of her life. After growing up in the small town of Orroroo in South Australia, she became a jillaroo before spending twenty years farming 8000 acres, east of Esperance, WA. She spends much of her year behind the wheel, traversing our big country, scouting inspiration and potential storylines for future books, and appearing as a guest speaker at a range of events, including country shows, ladies’ days and writers’ festivals.
A trailblazer in all aspects of her life, Fleur has been a jillaroo farming the land for more than 20 years, founded DVassist to help regional dwellers access crucial support for family and domestic violence, and raised two children with developmental and speech delays, teaching them Makaton sign language to communicate.
Collins the Booksellers will provide books for purchase and signing after the talk, with light refreshments provided by the library.
